Sovereign Bank Stadium is located in newly redeveloped Downtown York, PA. Just minutes away from several major highways, the stadium is located along George Street, one of the most heavily traveled streets in the area. It is centrally located and is in close proximity to many major metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York, and Washington, DC.
The stadium itself invokes a great feeling of baseball nostalgia and boasts a “Green Monster”- like left field wall, a manually operated scoreboard, and a fully functional kid’s playground.
Sovereign Bank Stadium honors Brooks Robinson, one of the greatest icons in the history of baseball, through not only the Brooks Robinson Plaza but also the address of Sovereign Bank Stadium, 5 Brooks Robinson Way. The plaza connects the stadium’s main entrance with York’s downtown, and features a statue of Brooks, along with other commemorative items and information related to his 23-year career in professional baseball.
In addition to the areas around the stadium, some of the surrounding streets are also available for use during events, offering even more space. In terms of usable area, this venue offers more space and room than our previous venue, and we are excited to be working with them for 2011 and beyond!
